[In the early afternoon on the 18th, the journals are graced with the voice of a witch who’s had something on her mind for a little while. She sounds more than a little jittery; chalk it up to her not wanting to screw up again.]

H-hey, Luceti. Oh! Welcome, and good luck, to all of you New Feathers…my name’s Willow.

Uh, for those of you who’ve been here a while, and know more than I do… [How to put this? Her words are laced with a frustrating amount of shyness and uncertainty.]

So, lately I’ve been trying to learn from the filial spirits here in Luceti, a-and…it’s going good! It really is. But um…I was wondering. Is there any sort of…. I mean, I’ve contacted Nala already, and like I said….no complaints here! Everything’s fine, just…

…Who should I pick next? [There, she said it. And it sounded horribly direct and rude and ugh…] I mean, i-is there any sort of….order I should be going in? Least to most difficult, or…friendliest to…like on a scale of one to…ten… [Aaaand she trails off awkwardly.]

I was just…curious. [And also super anxious.] Thanks in advance.

[And then she manages to perk up for just a moment, as she remembers an addendum:] Oh! And if anyone’s interested, Yuri’s organized a volleyball tournament that’s going to be happening soon. So spectators and participants alike would be very awesome.

[For more face-to-face interactions, Willow's going to be out and about today. After her morning routine at House Seven she could be spotted at Seventh Heaven and the library throughout the afternoon, followed by Good Spirits in the evening. Or just walking from point A to point B, whichever.]

The spirits...well, they're native. And they can teach their elemental magic. I just...was hoping to learn more.

You mostly go with what you feel most comfortable in attempting, as not all of them are as easily accessible as Nala is anyway. Some people like to go for the challenge, others go for learning the ones that might seem more necessary to them. Sometimes it can take a while to learn even after the initial contact is made, depending on how your contact goes.

I see. But...I mean, I guess I was wondering if there's a more efficient way to go about it that's worked best in the past? Or is it completely individual? I just...want to do it right.

I need some alcohol and inane chatter. It's been nothing but study, study, study all day for me.

[She might have taken her responders' bits of advice a tad seriously. And is now taking a break from poring over notes and worrying.]

[Of course, Grune being both an avid gardener and extraordinarily sensitive to the spirits, she might have a bit of an advantage here....]

I haven't tried contacting the spirits yet- it's kind of intimidating to think about. What's it like?

[Just let the squee out, Billy. You know you want to.

But no, Willow thinks for a moment before answering.] Well...Nala's not that intimidating, to be honest. I guess a lot of newbies go to her first.

It was like...it was like this sense of welcoming? And calm. It was...nice. [And for a recovering magic addict--potentially dangerous. Another reason she's panicking and asking others so nervously; she isn't used to benevolent endorphin rushes.]

To be honest, outside of Nala, who's super easy for everyone [Who isn't her] or Hyt, who's supposed to be super-hard for everyone, it's a matter of a affinity and getting along with their personalities. Me and Eferin get a great understanding, but I struggle to put up with Sona, personally.

Okay, so you get along better with Fire than with Water, who are opposites? I guess that makes sense.

[..."Fire and water opposites...One or the other? Struggle to put up with other one?"...]

So...there's a margin for error, then? [Because she is very interested in not making any errors. Not this time.]

[Luke's wandering through town doing his morning routine when he spots Willow going...somewhere. The young witch had left quite an impression on him, and he owes her a talk at the very least.]

Hello Willow, how have you been?

Oh, hey Luke! I've been pretty good. Same ol', same ol', you know how it is.

[Pause.] Haven't seen you since Hurricane Luceti and the invasion of the body snatchers. I heard that...ended up going according to plan?

[Asking because afterwards, she was more focused on an injured Buffy. And Luke was sort of the leader of the telepaths.]

It might be helpful to you to just... try and talk with all of them and see which one you want to get to know next.

[Kind of like figuring out your elemental inclination, except without spelling that out.]

But there isn't any set formula for it, or anything.

That does sort of sound obvious, doesn't it? Just...doing only what I want when it comes to magic hasn't been...altogether healthy for me back home. [There's sort of an apology in her voice. For all that she does not want to elaborate, she can see why others might not understand her hesitance.] It just...would have been easier if there was a formula, I guess.

[Beat as she recalls their previous conversation and looks over her list of spirits.] You're water, right? Have you contacted..."Sona" at all?

They're mostly all very willing to speak to you. I-I know Sona was a bit of challenge for, well, Giles I believe. [ A light chuckle at that. ] And, ah, H-Hyt it was...rather difficult to get into contact with. I-I suppose it also depends on what elements you're most attune to.

[ But that isn't really a factor if you can use all of them easily. ] It does vary for everyone though and they're easier to contact in their specific elements.

[She does chuckle a little at the mention of Giles, too.] Consensus seems to say that Hyt's the hardest, so far.

I guess that's the problem. I don't...I don't know if I'm attuned to one element more than any others.

[She grins, eager for a subject change.]

It's a sport from back home! Two teams hit a ball over a net using only their hands. If the ball hits the floor...or the sand, in our case...the other team gets a point.

It can get pretty exciting.

[Molly isn't entirely sure about the spirits. She's a scientist, one who tries to stay positive and open-minded, yes, but still a scientist. And people talking about actual spirits teaching them real magic, well--it's a bit much.

But oh, part of her thinks it'd be pretty fantastic if it is true. After all, she's had her share of imagining herself as a princess or a fairy. Granted, she was still a kid then. But still.

It could be possible. Maybe?]

So, the spirits are real then?

Sure are. I'm in contact with one of them already, at this point.

...Skeptical? [The woman's tone hadn't seemed particularly mocking, or anything. Just...inquisitive.]

Vash and Wolfwood both talk about Eferin sometimes. Usually to complain about him.

[Amelia's never tried contacting the spirits herself, although she had thought to before. Things had just gotten hectic shortly after, and she'd let the idea go.]

Never heard of volleyball. What is it?

Really? Good to know. [And that goes into her notes! "Vash and Wolfwood...Eferin...complain"]

It's a sport from my world...and some others, apparently. It's played with two teams on either side of a net, and if you let the ball touch the ground, the other team gets a point. It's a lot of fun!

I'm no expert, but I'd go with writing all of their names on a piece of paper and seeing which one you feel best about now that all the names are in front of you. If it's a whole spiritual thing, then you should be following your instincts probably.

[Ooh, that's a new idea! She jots this down in her notes too. "Write names down...see which one I'm drawn to..."]

Well...it's just, following my instincts and doing whatever I want has landed me in hot water...before. Magically speaking. So...let's just say it's a situation I'd rather not repeat.

He'd seen Buffy and Willow chatting when he came into Good Spirits. So after Buffy went off to go tend to another customer for awhile or do bartender type things, Sokka goes and sits down.

"You're one of Buffy's pals, right? From her world?"

And Willow's sipping an adorable daiquiri when he sits next to her. Looking over at the guy with lips still on the straw, she nods before remembering she...probably needs her lips to speak. So she sits more upright and faces towards him.

"Yeah, that's right. My name's Willow."

There are native spirits here? [Probably another reason why he felt out of place here... it was already occupied.]

Yeah, there are. One for each of the four elements, and then some.

I've got to ask. How does Luceti's magic stack up? I figure you've probably got a pretty solid opinion. Being a witch and all.

[And he's curious. He was patched up with a lot of magic after the last draft.]

W-well... [She inhales, considering her answer.]

I've only learned from Nala so far. But here it seems a little...a little easier? More gentle, maybe. I don't end up with nosebleeds and such as often, at least.

[Granted that's also probably because she's starting smaller than she did back home and not pushing herself as hard...but oh well, details!]
